Teen Pregnancy Is A Well Known Concern Across The World

Teen pregnancy is a well known concern across the world, not only in developing countries but with teenager s in school in the western world. When families are faced with realities like these it is important that everyone is there for each other. This greatly impacts the teenager s involved, their families, and the baby. So how does this issue affect everyone socially, emotionally, economically, and how does it affect the baby s development? There are many support centres that can help families and teens to deal with the conflicts they have to face ahead of them. Instead of the full picture, all we see is the cute baby and the celebrity mom. a teen from a teen pregnancy pact in Ma ssachusetts who agreed to get pregnant all together with their friends; and those who found out they weren’t pregnant said they were disappointed (Englander, 2010). It can be said that as a result the 7% of women who do not use contraceptives account for the 53% of unintended pregnancies (Nasso,2011). Being a teenager in high school can be very difficult with the pressure from parents, teachers, friends, and the media. Some mostly blame the many forms of entertainment from songs and music videos to television shows and movies which can often be quite sex-saturated. As others believe it is pressure from society and friends and teens not wanting to feel abnormal or unwanted. When a teen first learns about their pregnancy and the obstacles they are faced with many are scared, in shock or in denial of their situation. What does a young teenage girl do when they learn that they are pregnant? Some don t want to tell their parents as they are afraid of their disappointment and disap proval.
